The board of directors is planning to install new traffic calming and reduction measures in response to complaints from residents about the growth and speed of traffic on the Estate at large, and on Hartopp Road in particular.
In an attempt to mitigate this problem two carriageway narrowing peninsulas will be installed in the ‘upper’ stretch of Hartopp Road giving priority to traffic travelling ‘up’ Hartopp Road (that is towards Four Oaks Road). Vehicles travelling ‘down’ Hartopp Road (that is away from Four Oaks Road) will have to give way. These peninsulas will be installed during week commencing 31st August and will not involve any road closures. Inconvenience to residents will be kept to a minimum.
In addition, a rubber speed ramp will be installed on Wentworth Road, near Ravenswood Close. Like Hartopp Road, Wentworth Road suffers heavily from ‘cut through’ traffic at rush hour periods.
These measures are on a trial basis and feedback from residents is important.
