Street Lighting

In preparation for the darker evenings a ‘darkness survey’ will be carried out just after the clocks go back an hour on 26th October. This survey involves the Estate’s electrical contractors touring the Estate after dark to check the output of each street lighting column. It is sometimes difficult to establish why a lantern has failed unless it is tested in the dark, or that a repair has been effective, and this survey allows that opportunity.
